Got me all around town.

I think one of the most productive things I've done thus far this summer is participate in blindfold_spn. At this point I've filled six prompts, and I'm hoping to get one or two more done before it closes tomorrow night. HERE'S HOPING MY PORN ABILITIES DON'T DWINDLE. As usual, I'll probably only claim about half of what I really wrote, but it's still nice to sit back and see some actual fic output.

I have to say, I really love Blindfold. I've written for it every time (my round-up of last year's fills is here). I realize there's another, permanent kink meme in the SPN fandom, but I like that Blindfold only has these short, sporadic rounds. It makes it easy and fun to particpate in, because it feels like a lot of people come out of the woodwork to prompt and fill at the same time, and it's so bite-sized that it's not overwhelming. Filling random kink prompts has been a fun way to juggle characters I'm not super familiar with, or haven't written in a long time, and kind of get back into the swing of writing on a regular basis.

It's also jump-started my love for the SPN universe, which has been pretty dormant this last year. I'm actually finding myself seeking out fic to read again! INSANITY. I didn't realize how much I had missed it until I finished off season five and dove into these prompts. I've only had two major, all-encompassing fandoms in my decade of fannishness, and SPN was one of them, so it's not all that surprising. Like Harry Potter before it, my depature was pretty organic, but I'm really enjoying this revival. It's nice to get back to my ~roots.

Okay, Joe is just getting impossible to find attractive anymore. WHAT IS GOING ON THERE. I know I'm in the minority in that I think he looked best with straightened, floppy hair and a firm grasp on his feminine side (and further in a minority of wanting him to be a toppy aggressive boy under the prettiness), but his Grizzly Adams transformation is leaving me cold.

For the most part I'm enjoying the new season of JONAS. It's cute and spunky and appropriately summery, although it's definitely an abrupt transition from the first season. But then, the first season was all a little too twee for their rapidly aging fanbase. I can see this appealing to the 12-16 demographic a lot more than the old show, which was basically for children.

It also provided these images, which made me get all "sldkghsdg NICK!" for the first time in a long time:

WHY IS HE SITTING ON THE COUNTER? WHY IS HE SO ADORABLY TEENAGE?? WHY IS IT SO ENJOYABLY DOMESTIC?? Idek, universe.
